Ron is a First Nations Grand Chief of British Columbia, widely known and respected for his achievements in Indigenous Rights, Business and Philanthropy, across Canada.

Ron is the 6 term, former Chief of Westbank First Nation, one of very few Canadian Self-Governed First Nations, a goal that Ronald championed and achieved while Chief. 

In 2013 he was honoured with the title of Grand Chief of British Columbia for Life in recognition of his achievements for First Nations Peoples across Canada.

Ron’s wide-reaching business interests include agriculture, forestry, real estate investment. He is a significant landowner in the Okanagan Valley, in and around Kelowna, BC and a successful author having published 4 definitive books on the colonization of Canada, with forewards written by the globally renowned environmental expert, Naomi Klein.

In May 2019 Grand Chief Derrickson received the Indspire Award for Business and Commerce in Calgary and received positive acclaim from across government and industry for his lifelong achievements in business against all odds, including from Justin Trudeau and industry giants operating across Canada.
